Heaven is for Real

He's With Us

Authors Note: This piece is a response to the book Heaven is for real. In this poem I am discussing how we touch God's heart every day just like Colton did when he went to heaven.

Beyond the trees
Over the mountains
Below the water
We love him there

On a ship
an airplane
or in a car
We feel him there

In the clouds
Beside us
In heaven
We see him there

Unconditional Love

Authors Note: I am reading the book Heaven is for Real  for literature group. This is a response to the first 50 pages of the book. This response is about how parents will always give love to their kids. I am going to try to work on my transitions.

Running through the hospital hallway pushing along a patient on a rolling cot like bed. Her parents trying to run next to her but the doctors pushing them back telling them they are getting to close. It didn't matter if she was fooling around when she got hurt or if someone drugged or shot her. Her parents just wanted her to be safe. In the book Heaven is for Real Colton's parents had stayed by him 100%. This is because parents would do anything for their kids.

If it's helping them get ready when they're late, driving them to soccer practice, or nursing them back to health; parents will  give unconditional love to their children. In Heaven is for Real Colton's mom showed a great example of this. When Colton was throwing up every 30 minutes his mom was in the bathroom with him trying to help him feel better. I know my mom would do the same thing for me as well as other parents would do for their kids.

Another time that Colton's parents showed unconditional love to him is when he was in the hospital and they stayed there with him. They sat at his bed as he was asleep or puking once again. His mom and dad were  just hoping that he would get better. Colton's parents did this because they love him so much and if anything were to happen to him their hearts would be broken. Parents will continually love their children.
